Many people suffer from pain in or around the knee. A diagnosis of "anterior knee pain" is often made. A range of symptoms are grouped under the term "anterior knee pain" or "femoropatellar pain syndrome". This pain is frequently caused by improper positioning of the kneecap (patella). The therapy goal is to reposition the patella so it moves correctly.

To achieve effective patella guiding, the Patella Pro features a unique therapy approach which is proven to be better than typical orthoses: The dynamic re-centring technique.

The risk of improper positioning is particularly high for low bending angles of 10-30°, when the patella is not guided much by the patellofemoral groove. This is exactly where the Patella Pro comes in: At the relevant physiological bending angles of 10-30°, the kneecap is guided in the physiologically correct patellofemoral groove by the dynamic re-centring technique of the orthosis. The frequently inflamed soft tissue is relieved, and knee pain is reduced by functional relief of the joint structures. The pressure on the guide system does not increase in proportion to the bending angle. Tilting of the kneecap and the resulting increased pressure on the joint surfaces is avoided. The Patella Pro has been biomechanically proven to ensure re-centring of the patella over the relevant flexion range - it always provides the right amount of guiding.

One-time fitting of the orthosis is performed in six easy steps. Quick release closures and donning loops make for easier donning and doffing of the orthosis. Hook and loop material and ratchet closures can be used to fit the Patella Pro individually for optimal function.
